Progress on Doctor Shortage: Idaho’s Moved Up from 49th to 45th
Betsy Russell with The Idaho Press Tribune published an article of Dr. Ted Epperly, President and CEO of Full Circle Health, presenting to the Idaho Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee (JFAC) Tuesday afternoon (January 21, 2020), of progress made towards reducing Idaho’s physician shortage by increasing residency programs.
According to a 2019 State Physician Workforce Data report from the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), Idaho is now ranked 45th for Primary Care physicians per capita, including the number of graduate medical residents per capita from 49th for the state of Idaho, to 47th.
